Our cast takes a bow at Staten Island OutLOUD's annual performance of "Moby Dick" at historic Fort Wadsworth. Staten Island OutLOUD gathers neighbors for the fun of reading aloud and sharing ideas. We promote cross-cultural understanding with grass-roots gatherings that highlight our community's rich diversity. We dig into a wide range of ideas, but with a twist... We make it fun, and everyone can have a say! Join us to explore a creative mix: from hip-hop to haiku, Don Quixote to the Kabbalah, the Lincoln-Douglas debates to Barry Goldwater and Paul Wellstone. We bring neighbors together to read Rumi, Maya Angelou, Patti Smith, Mark Twain, Henry Rollins, Rita Dove, Chinua Achebe, Emily Dickinson, Pushkin, Langston Hughes, Aesop, Mahfouz, Melville, Martin Luther King, Isabel Allende, Walt Whitman, Tagore, Sojourner Truth, Confucius, John Locke and Rousseau. From the Constitution to the Qu'ran, Borges to the Buddha, St. Augustine to the Bhagavad Gita, the Bill of Rights, the Emancipation Proclamation, Genesis and Freud and Jung, and hundreds more. Staten Island OutLOUD spotlights our community's historic sites. We enable people from different backgrounds to meet, expand their horizons and share new ideas.
Staten Island OutLOUD builds bridges within our community. We attract a diverse, intergenerational audience that represents the best our community has to offer. Visit us on Facebook!
