Young Writers OutLOUD
Staten Island OutLOUD offers a special opportunity for young writers, ages 10-18. Young Writers OutLOUD gives Island youth an opportunity to write and perform their own original work, as well as some important classics. In March and April 2010, our workshops will meet at the Richmondtown branch of the New York Public Library, 200 Clarke Ave, Staten Island NY 10306. FREE!

Staten Island OutLOUD-Young Writers Project is led by Stapleton resident Gary Moore, writer & musician who taught in the NYC public school system for nearly 30 years.
Gary Moore, OutLOUD's Young Writer's Workshop Coordinator
Gary Moore is the Coordinator of Staten Island OutLOUD's Young Writers Project. Gary, a Stapleton resident, is a writer and musician who performs frequently all around our community with two musical groups: The Guys In the Band and Allergic to B's, where he performs blues, rock, folk, and everything in between.
Gary was a Special Education teacher in the NYC public school system for over 30 years. He is proud to be a member of the spoken-word performance group Staten Island TRASH, and Day de Dada, in which he has performed and run their open mike segments. Gary, his wife Joan Moore and son Ezra Donellan (who performs all over New York in Kingore Trout Is Dead) are all working musicians.
Gary's work has been published in a variety of formats. He recently finished a memoir about his years as a New York teacher.
